Friday Night Fights - The Bathroom Brawl

Welcome to Friday Night Fights!

Twisty Girl (Penny) vs Puff (Angus)

The Bathroom Brawl

As the fight begins, Puff and Twisty make a challenge.

Whoosh!  Twisty Girl swings and misses.

Oh!  Twisty makes a pounce right on top of Puff!

Puff makes his mean bite face!

But Twisty just stares him down and doesn’t even flinch!

Whoa! Another pounce by Twisty! She is fierce tonight!
A bite to the back foot but Puff uses his shoulder clamp bite (a known Twisty weakness).

Puff clamps down further with a headlock move!

It’s no good! Twisty pulls back and....

The Ref has called a foul!     Illegal holding?!

After a shake and a lick the fight resumes.   Twisty rolls over for a tease…

Puff is having none of it and circles round!

Watch out Puff!!!

Oh! Twisty Girl strikes again!

But then she high-tails it out of there! The match goes to Puff!

And now a word from our sponsor…

Yukon says, “The incredible edible egg! They are nom, nom good! Cage free, Completely Organic, Nellie’s Nest Eggs. Nom!”

Back in our locker room interview (and safe on the bed), Penny says that she admires how Puff can take what she has to dish out.

And there you have it folks! Another Friday Night Fights!
We hope you enjoyed tonight's fight and join us again next time.

Storytime - A Boxing Mystery

 A Boxing Mystery

What we are looking at here is not just an innocent group game of get the stick. There is something else going on in this picture.

Perhaps you can spot the something else in this picture.

Let me bigify it for you…

How about now?

Nick’s investigating the situation.

What is going on?

Yukon in hunter mode has got to investigate now.
(Assorted dog bones never far out of reach)

It’s grown appendages!

What/Who is it?

Why it's Snafu, of course!

Two Cat Tuesday - The King and Queen

Thanks for all the guesses on what BJ stands for. Kea was correct as the very first comment. BJ stands for Betty Jane. There was, of course, a mix up about gender. BJ was named after DP's grandmother, who was an avid cat lover and rescuer of strays. To read more about BJ click here.

And now may I present to you our King and Queen, Wizard and Penny. These two rule the roost jointly, most plutonically and without squabble. They're not snuggly with each other, though Penny is snuggly with Nick, Angus and Owen. I've mentioned before that Penny does not like Snafu, however Wizard seems to like him a lot and will tussle with him lightly (but not long enough to qualify as a Friday Night Fight).

I think they have a perfect partnership, and when it comes down to it, Wizard defers to Penny.

Mancat Monday - BJ

With Moseley's passing, BJ has now taken the honorary position at the top of the sidebar as our elder kitty. He is 10 years old this year. Moseley has been moved to the honorary position at the bottom.

I don't have as many pictures of BJ as I do the other kitties because he sleeps hidden under the bed most of the day. He comes out only to get his nightly dose of loving or to play group games like in these pictures. In the one above, he's just missed getting the feather.

The blue feather, that is. Do you see it right above Wizard's head?

Oops! Missed again!

Got it!

BJ is still very spry for an elder. He is THE mancat.
Do you know what BJ stands for?

Friday Night Fights - The Zen Master vs Dairy King

Welcome to Friday Night Fights!

Tonight we are featuring Dairy King (Wizard) vs The Zen Master (Yukon)!

While The Zen Master has won and lost previous matches, Dairy King is undefeated. In their last match together Dairy King used a back kick to bring The Zen Master down. What will he do this time?

Being studley champions, the fighters begin with mutual grooming.

A half hour or so later, Dairy King puts the bitey on The Zen Master’s neck.

Ouchie!! It’s too much and The Zen Master arches back in protest.

Dairy King is persistant so TZM makes a grab for his face.

A shove….

Oh! And a quick jab under the chin.
What a master The Zen Master truly is...all without moving a tock.

Blam! And then the big blow!

He did it! The Zen Master held his ground and pulled no punches. Dairy King gets up to shake it off.

It’s clear from here folks, The Zen Master gave Diary King a lickin’!

And now a word from our sponsor…

BJ says, “Back Bay Pet Company's Kitty Can’t Cope Sacks boggle my mind…Okay, I’m done talkin’ kid, I need a nap. What..., huh? Oh, all right …And they’re totally organic and made in Maine. How's that? Alright? Now go away kid, you’re bothering me.”

And there you have it folks! Another victory for The Zen Master, and a first defeat for Dairy King. You saw it here tonight on Friday Night Fights. We hope you join us again next time.

Thursday with Snafu

Snafu found a new place to lay.
This is a small basket that holds our mittens and hats at the front door. It's right next to our reusable shopping bags and basket of dog toys, of course.

If you have trouble playing the video here, please try here.

For more charming photos of our naughty boy, please see our post today at the Naughty Kitty Club.

Mancat Monday - Nick

Mancat Nick the Musketeer

He's showing off his athletic agility in this photo, but you need another perspective to fully appreciate it.

And here it is.

It's quite a leap from the floor and Penny is the only other kitty who regulars this spot.

Friday Night Fights

Welcome to the Best of Friday Night Fights!

Stay with us as we look back at the best shots from all the past fights!

This is the fight that started it all! The Two Tabby Tussle!

The Big Boof Boys! Look at that stance and headlock!

The classic ending to the Big Boof Boys Fight was immortalized by Wendy at LOLSpot!

The first match between Foo-Foo and Yellow Boy! Another amazing headlock!

Twisty Girl's first match against Puff. I still wince when I look at that shoulder bitey!

...until Twisty broke free and flew over the gate.

Dairy King's famous blow to The Zen Master's face sending him into a fury.

Twisty Girl's Tyson bitey on The Zen Master. She had his head for lunch!

Yellow Boy's sure bet kick that totally missed Dairy King! Still - he had great form!

The rematch of Yellow and Foo-Foo that turned out to be all in fun!

Yellow Boy's attempt to take on Puff! Where there were alleged doping accusations.

And from last week that roar-like-a-lion ferocity of Puff with Twisty Girl.

And now, of course, a word from our sponsor...

Snafu says, "Skippy brand creamy peanut butter is nom, nom good! I love to lick the lid or the spoon. Nom!"

Well that's it folks! I hope you enjoyed The Best of Friday Night Fights and we hope you'll join us again next time. Feel free to look back on your own to see the fights from beginning to end, plus their sponsors.
