A Mission for Toys

Last week, we had a serious problem.

We were running low on toys.

But I knew just what to do.

Did we run down to our local pet store to engage in consumer spending?

Heck, no! 

I turned to the One True Source of all toys!

The Refrigerator!

In great humbleness, we lay ourselves upon the floor,

 and with the right tools...great treasures will be ours!

It just so happens we have the right tools and they are these...

1 yard stick - metal

1 flashlight - small with fresh batteries

1 back scratcher (for those tough to reach places)

and 1 vacuum cleaner

Are you coming?

We are going in....

or...under

A few minutes and a few helping paws later...

we've got this...

So that's where the cover to the feta went...

TOYS!!!!!

Isn't that miraculous?

Of course, I had help. You can tell that's Snafu by the ear hair behind his ears, but do you see Owen's paw?

After the dirt and dust bunnies were removed and each piece was lovingly vacuumed, I let Snafu take his pick...

That mouse had barely been touched before it found refuge under the fridge.

I give it three days....

And what did Owen choose?

This is his "milk ring." 

We only buy half gallons so its the plastic plug to the spout, but it's still a milk ring.

Anyway, mission accomplished!

Tabby Tummy Tuesday

Yukon likes to roll back and forth on his back and meow to get my attention. His meow is more like a sqeak and this picture depicts that pretty well.
If I go over to him, he gets right up and starts rubbing his face on my legs.

I love the seam down his tummy.

I just know I'm going to find a zipper in there ;)

I can not imagine how some folks can get their kitties to wear clothes and then take pictures of them (Daisy comes to mind).

Here are some out-takes of us getting a shot of the Petco graduation cap from last Friday's blog.

We first tried it on Penny, but she was totally unhappy about it.

Seemed like he could tolerate wearing the cap, but lighting is always an issue.

Better.

The cap is still on, but he's not looking at the camera (that's Snafu's tail in the background).

Yeah, so now he is looking at the camera, and trying to whap it too.

One more try to wriggle out of it...

The promise of a treat encourages him to give in to his predicament. Sourpuss!

 

And yes! We've got a good enough shot of his eyes and the logo on the cap (which is the point of sponsorship in the first place).

Friday Night Fights - The Big Boof Boys Battle of Champions

Welcome to Friday Night Fights!

The Big Boof Boys Battle of Champions!

The Zen Master (Yukon) vs Puff (Angus)

These two guys have won a bunch of battles to get to where they are now!

Tonight’s the night to see who will be the Friday Night Fights' Champion.

They begin their match with the traditional mutual grooming. Both lying on the mat.

This ends quickly, revealing The Zen Master’s intensity.

Puff is immediately locked into place by The Zen Master’s yogic energy and massive bulk.

A bitey is hardly necessary TZM! But at least Puff has been awakened by pain and forced into action.

Look at the intensity of that hold! Puff’s half hearted bunny kick will get him no where!

That’s it! Puff is up and walking off the mat.

He’s all done!

All The Zen Master can do is watch Puff walk away.

And now a word from our sponsor….

But I'm a cat and don't need training because I was born brilliant.

The Zen Master!

Talking to Co9T reporters later in the locker room, The Zen Master said that speed and patience were the keys to winning each match and ultimately the Championship.

He said his training involved long meditations along with massive daily doses of kibble.

 

When Co9T reporters asked Puff what happened, he said he zoned out, feeling One with the Universe and an inner sense of peace. When he came to, he said he remembers thinking, I don’t want to fight anymore, and so he got up and walked away.

Puff said he now plans to take the spring and summer off and look into going to a Retreat.

The Zen Master also said now that the fighting season is over, he plans to spend time with his girl before beginning the rigorous training schedule all over again.

And that is our season of Friday Night Fights!
