Two Gray Tocks on Tuesday...plus
Wizard and Snafu's tocks as they take a drink from the sink.
They are a lot alike in their confidence level as well as their color. Wizard and Owen are the only two cats who get along with Snafu.
Do you see Secret Agent Cat? Who is Secret Agent Cat?

A Snafu Friday
Here is our delightful boy, Snafu, in full action mode.
DP and I are sitting at the desk together at our respective laptops, and he wants to get our attention.
He does not want to sit in our laps, be cuddled or petted, no, he wants us to play with him.
Right Now!
Why should I be blogging about cats when I could be playing with this one right now?
I'm just glad he's not in the kitchen doing this.

So...do you think it worked?

Thankful Thursday
Wizard is Thankful for Rex.
Rex and Wizard play together too.
The other two terriers only give the cats a growl and a show of teeth.

Two Cat Tuesday - Yukon and Owen Plus Awards!
I have no shortage of these types of pictures with Owen.
He is such a snuggle puss.
Also in the Cat of Nine Tales news...
Also in the Cat of Nine Tales news...
We were just given the Beautiful Blogger Award
Many thanks to both of you for thinking of us!
The rules to this award are to write seven beautiful things about yourself and then pass it on to seven others. Jack of All Shades and Shadows suggested that we do one thing for each cat and so that's what we're going to do.
Here are our beautiful things...
In this youthful picture of Angus you can really see his "pocket" on his back leg.
BJ was an indoor/outdoor kitty who was converted to indoor only.
Nick has sensitive eyes and is so hard to photograph because he always closes his eyes when the camera comes towards him, even when it doesn't flash.
Owen loves to be petted backwards.
Penny has a heart tatoo from when she got spayed. The vet tech agreed to put a little heart along with her gender sign near her spay scar.
Snafu's eyes went from kitten blue to gray before they turned green. I thought for sure he'd keep his gray eyes.
Wizard is a roll-on-the-floor begger for cheese.
Yukon loves to sink his teeth into banana rinds.
There you have it! Now, the three blogs out of all our beautiful blogging friends that we wish to pass this onto are:
Purrfect Haven
The Paw Relations
Cat-a-holic, Laila and Minchie
Thanks for stopping by!

Weeeee! Git it!
Penny Chasing her tail.
Not the usual round about way.
Penny also chases her tail around the bottom legs of the cat tree, or while laying on the seat of the recliner.
We get kind of squeely when we interact with Penny...um, sorry about that.

Wizard Gets Spring Fever
Wizard is sporting his new lime green collar.
Every Spring Wizard gets a bit of Spring Fever and starts bolting for the open door. So to prevent any long term mishaps, we put a collar and tag on him during this time. Funny thing is when he gets outside, he just lays down and rolls on his back, or runs over to Stanze, or just stops and looks around. When we come outside to get him, his tail shakes with excitement and sometimes he runs right over to us. He never runs off or protests being picked up and brought back in. It's like a game to him. "I did it!" he seems to say.
Last week, before the time change, I let Stanze outside for her last potty run of the evening. It was dark outside and about 20 minutes after she'd come back in and settled down for the night I heard the telltale sound of a cat climbing up a screen door. Several of our kitties were surrounding the closed door with big wide eyes, wondering what the heck was going on out there.
As I cautiously opened the door, I was shocked to find Wizard outside on the steps looking frantic. He ran back in the house and was immediately greeted by many sniffing noses as he seemingly told his exciting tale being left outside.
I figured he must have run between Stanze's legs and I never saw him. His adventure outside only made him thirsty for more of it and he kept meowing this caterwauling type meow to go back out that night.
Luckily he isn't as driven this week, but he hasn't totally stopped trying to get out yet, and we are very concious of his whereabouts when we open any door.
Such a trickster...

Two Cat Tuesday - Nick and Penny
Looks are deceiving...
I'd love to tell you this is a snuggly cozy shot of two kitties who love each other...
well, it is that too, but it's really a picture of surrender.
Through a major whap and bitey fest, Nick has surrendered to Penny's demands to let her
stay in the bed he was napping in,
as long as he can stay too. Penny agreed.
Penny knows very well that Nick is a good hearted fellow.
It wasn't all that long ago that he taught her how to wash.

Monday Morning Hangover
Penny is warming her toes by the fire.
I love how her hind leg is fringed in butterscotch.
Both hind legs are like that - one of her nicknames is Butterscotch Pants.

Award and Reward
Cat of Nine Tales is honored to have been the recipient of awards from blogging pals new and old!
Most recently we received The Hello Award, first by Jacquelines Cat House back on February 19th, but we must have been lost in space because we missed it. Thanks for reminding me, Jacqueline! Then just on Friday, Nolls Nip gave us the award, too. Thank you so very much, you guys (that's Northern talk for ya'll)!! We're happy to meet you and become new blogging friends!
The rules say to pass this award on to two blogs we've never visited before. I thought that would be fun and so I went straight to the Cat Blogosphere website for a perusal of the Mr. Linky list. We quickly found this wonderful blog new to us:
Tristan and Crikey at the Beach. Tristan is a Senior Dilute Torbie girl and Crikey is a silver and white Tuxie who is one big Mancat! Although not new to a lot of my blogging friends, I found not only some wonderful blog entries, but I learned they are also Charter Members of the Naughty Kitty Club. We’re everywhere!
My next new blog is Four Crazy Cats with Devon, Tanner and Smokey, along with memories of MoJo. A woman who goes by the name SuziQCat has visited and commented on Cat of Nine Tales blog several times and I thought it was high time I went over for a visit. My hat is off to any wondeful human who chooses to foster kitties (and doggies). We used to enjoy the rewarding life as foster parents, but our household overfloweth with 12 right now and the help (that would be me) had to finally go out and get a real job. SuziQCat has some great tales to tell of her own clan as well as her latest fosters.
If you haven't already, check these bloggers out!
We were also blessed to receive another award on Friday from Monty Graycat who gave us The Sunshine Award! Thank you so much!! I just love the colors!
While this award requests that you pass it along to 12 other blogs that give sunshine to your day, Cat of Nine Tales loves all our blogging friends and all of you give us sunshine everyday! And you know how we (like Snafu) break the rules often, so we'll pass this award along to 3 of our Sunshiney blog friends, and they are:
Shine on friends!
And now your reward...........................
Two Cat Tuesday - Kittens!
Owen and Snafu didn't used to be the most photographed duo in the house; before them it was Yukon and Angus.
These were taken before I found the camera setting to freeze the action.
They were always The Boof Boys.

A Snafu Friday
What is Snafu up to now?
We ask ourselves that question every time we hear his sweet trills and chirps coming from the kitchen.
We come running only after we hear
KER-PLUNK!
And now you'll find it in here...
Please leave a message, we'll call you back.

We come running only after we hear
KER-PLUNK!
Yes. That is our telephone in the water bowl.
And to emphasize the point...
I'm pointing to it as Snafu inspects his handywork.
3 days later, it worked just fine.
This is where we used to keep the phone.
Please leave a message, we'll call you back.

Toy Drawer
Due to our successful mission last week, the toy drawer is full again and now there are lots to choose from.
Snafu has his nose on something.
Of course.
I wonder what Owen will choose...
Interesting...the stuffed duck's foot.
I'm not sure what happened to the duck.
Have fun boys!

Boo and Peeper
I adopted two Angel VSquillions from the Cat Blogoshere Shelter and they arrived on Monday!
One Angel VSquillion is in memory of Moseley, whose nickname was Peeper.
For newcomer's to Cat of Nine Tales, Moseley was helped to the bridge the day after Christmas, you can read about him here, or click on his picture on the sidebar.
The other Angel VSquillion is in memory of Bustopher, whose nickname was Boo.
Boo was my boy for 14 years and we'd been through a lot together. Moseley was there too, but Moseley was all about Moseley and Bustopher only had eyes for me. Boo was helped to the bridge on February 12, 2008 after a surprise onset of FIP. We found out too late to do anything but ease his journey. He was 14 years old.
Here is a scanned picture of Boo in his youth, less than a year old.
And here he is in his last year.
I'd never compared the two photos before. He looks like such an old man, although still handsome!
Anyway...
I heard about the new Rainbow Angel VSquillions from Milo and Alfie's post. I'd been wanting to adopt one for awhile and this was the perfect time. I thought it would be fun to adopt Angel's in memory of Bustopher and Moseley and post them on my sidebar, but when they arrived, they touched my heart and made me all teary eyed.
Thank you to Gracie at the Shelter! You made my day!

Cat-O-Lympics Gold Medalists
GOLD!
Snafu's mischievousness has paid off with a Gold Medal in Competitive Napping!
With all the terrorizing he does when he is awake, we are all rewarded when he takes a nap!
Thank you so very much to Huffle Mawson for hosting the event. We appreciate that it was a ginormous undertaking.
Owen also won a collective gold for Bare Paw Fighting at Milo and Alphie's! It's such a pretty medal! Thanks fellas!
Here is Owen's winning move against Wizard.
We're so proud!
We had great fun at the Cat-O-Lympics. Congratulations to all the winners! Thank you to Fin at Housecat Confidential and everyone who participated!
