Nearly every day that Snafu goes outside, weather permitting, he returns with an oak leaf.
He plays with it on the bed if no one is napping,
or in the kitchen where the floor is slick and toys slide easily.
We let Snafu play with the oak leaf until it’s pretty mangled and toss it out the next morning, knowing he’ll just bring in a fresh one.
One day he brought in the mother of all oak leaves.
He was so protective of it, leaping from floor to counter tops, he never felt safe enough to play with it.
Funny boy.
Cat of Nine Tales is going on a Thanksgiving vacation from blogging. We’ll try to get in some visiting, but we won’t have any new posts until after Turkey Day. We highly recommend you take this opportunity to check out our first blog post here, or maybe wander through our archive or check out the introductory post of your favorite Cat of Nine Tales kitty by clicking on their picture over on the right. Comments on old posts are still welcome.
We are so very thankful for all the new friends and furends we have made in the short time we’ve been part of the Cat Blogosphere.
Happy Thanksgiving all!

That's so funny!
ReplyDeleteHave a great Thanksgiving!
Smoochies!
That is so funny! Just be grateful he doesn't drag in any branches!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving to you all!
That Snafu is a funny boy, indeed! He just can't "leaf" it alone, can he? It's amazing how focussed he is on the leaf. Actually, Dante brings in leaves, too, and bats them around. They're not in as good shape as the ones that Snafu picks up. Usually, their mostly dried up.
ReplyDeleteI wonder how long Snafu takes to select just the right one every day. That certainly was a beautiful big one you call the "mother of all leaves".
Maybe Snafu thinks leaves are his prey or something.
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you furry ones, and not-so-furry ones! See you later.
We think Snafu has the best ideas for toys to play with!
ReplyDeleteI like Snafu's choice of leaves! Great toys to play with.
ReplyDeleteAnd enjoy your Holiday!

Snafu is a funny boy! We love the photos almost as much as he loves his oak leaves. This must be his favorite time of year!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!
Snafu has a great idea. He has endless toys outside waiting to be brought inside. The toy does not cost the mom anything.
ReplyDeleteWishing you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving!
Wonderful pictures of Snafu.......we like the fact that he's so inventive when it comes to toys.
ReplyDeleteHave a very wonderful Thanksgiving. xxxxxx
He is a funny boy! The only leaves that Jonesie and Ginger drag in are stuck to their butt furrss! Ha!
ReplyDeleteSo, he is very much the fall type. Smart too, never forgetting to bring some of the outside fun inside.
ReplyDeleteHave lots of fun on Thanksgiving vacation.
That's very funny that he brings in a leaf every day. What a silly kitty! Must be a zen mother nature thing...
ReplyDeleteWe hope all of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Purrs and hugs,
The Kitty Krew
Snafu, you ARE a funny fellow with your oak leaf! We have plenty more here if you run out. Unfortunately, if I pay any attention to a dry oak leaf, it is to crunch some of it and eat it. And then up again it comes!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving to you all.
That is one monster leaf.. I hope you enjoy your beak.. Happy thanksgiving.. Hugs GJ x
ReplyDeleteThe zeroing in on oak leaves is very interesting!
ReplyDeleteWishing you a very Happy Thanksgiving!
That is so cute! Those Oak leaves look like great toys, although we can imagine they get crumbly after too long.
ReplyDeleteThat is a huge oak leaf. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you.
ReplyDeleteSo funny, I laughed and laughed
ReplyDeleteHa ha ha, what a riot! Some leaves just need to be captured!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving to all of you!
I have a bunch of oak leaves in my front yard, but Mom won't let me go outside to get any.
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool. We play at catchin fallin leafs outside, an LC brings in little sticks. But we never carry around leafs like that!
ReplyDeleteCute, maybe he thinks it is job to bring you a leaf.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely thanksgiving.
What a GINORMOUS Oak Leaf Snafu!!! Mom neffur realized your tail was SO floofy! She loves it! Have fun and we wish all of you and yours a most wonderful Thanksgiving! We're thankful that you're our furriends too!
ReplyDeleteWe know what we like, and Snafu likes the oak leaves...remember, Snafu could be dragging in worse!!! Y'all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeletethat is one beautiful and amusing leaf lover. Joy. Helen, Darcy & Bingley
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome! My previous kitty, Q, never killed a bird or a mouse, but scared me to death once by running out and across the street to get a leaf. He proudly brought it back and gave it to me. That was my boy, the leaf killer!
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting our blog, have a great Thanksgiving!
I love it... "the mother of all leaves!!!"
ReplyDeleteVery funny post. Katie has a love-fear thing with leaves. Loves watching and chasing them while they are blowing...as long as there is glass between her and the leaves. But if a leaf blows inside with the opening of a door, she scrams!
Happy Thanksgiving Lisa. Happiness to you, your family and your nine tails.
mew,
Glogirly (and Katie)
That is so funny

ReplyDeleteI love the story about Snafu and his oak leaves. He found a really big one. Happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteWe love leaves too, but mewmie says we make them into mulch--since we munch on them then throw them up...
ReplyDeleteHope you're back soon. Paddy really missed the friday night fight.
ReplyDeleteShe wanted to organize one herself, but Dushi was not in the mood.
Ended up in Paddy attack on laplying Dushi. Dushi drop and climbing back. Followed again by Paddy attack and another Dushi drop. And on and on.
