Toesies Teasing a Tuxie on Tuesday

I'm touching you.....

Just look at the expression on Moseley's face. He's actually seeing red.
It was getting close to Moseley's dinner time, which is the time Penny gets to lick his empty can of wet food. It's a treat for her and she looks forward to it with religious expectation. You can see pictures of this and read more about Penny here. Right now she's pushing him into wanting to go back to his room to eat.

Lately Moseley has become very finicky and will hardly eat anything but tuna juice. We've tried almost everything to get him to eat, but he is losing weight. He seems interested, but he won't actually eat the food, only lick up the juice/gravy of his canned meals, leaving solids behind. Oddly, he seems to nibble on his dry kibble, but still not enough or like he used to. We haven't been sure if it was just finickiness or a real medical problem. The longer it goes on, the longer we think it's the latter. A Vet visit is likely in the near future.

  1. I must need glasses as I didn't see the red on the face of the cute kitty. I am too young to have the eye problems. Hope the food was protected and no hard feelings between the two of you.

  2. One of my previous kitties, named Tommy, used to do the lick up the gravy and leave the rest, stuff. It's definitely a problem though if they are losing weight. I think you're right about another vet visit. I hope it's something that can be easily rectified.

Cute picture today! Penny's quite the character!

  4. I hate to say it because I don't like to go there, but the V-E-T visit might be a good idea. I just lick the juice of the canned food and mostly eat my kibble, but I'm not loosing weight. We will purr for the best for sweet Moseley!!!

  6. What a sweet picture! I hope it is a false alarm with Moseley. Maybe an appetite stimulant would help if the VET doesn't detect anything wrong.

  12. Quite frankly, I wouldn't wait any longer. It could be something furry serious and you don't want to have it flare up on the weekend!

  14. We hope you get your appetite back Moseley.Sometimes we just lick the gravy off the meat, but that is only if it is a flavour we don't like as much.

  16. I hate to say it - but this is exactly what happened with Floyd during his last few weeks. He would lick the juice from his wet food and eat a few treats but that was it. Then he went to not eating at all - I highly recommend a vet visit, especially with the weight loss. I hope he is just being picky - we will all keep our fingers and paws crossed!
